New loan signing Ryan Fallowfield could make his Harrogate Town against Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday.
Injuries sustained to Lloyd Kerry and Leigh Franks in Tuesday night’s West Riding County Cup quarter final 4-1 win over Thackley will mean a reshuffle by boss Simon Weaver.
Fallowfield, 18 ,joined Town on Monday from Premier League outfit Hull City and he will join his new teammates for the first time at training tonight.
Boss Simon Weaver said: “He’s very versatile and can play all across the midfield as well as out wide.
“He’s a fit, mobile player. Tidy in a tackle and good at retaining possession.
“He’s only young and we will have to show patience, but it’s been shown over the years that we are prepared to throw young players in and see what they can do.”
Adam Nowakowski and Louie Swain both netted twice against Northern Counties side Thackley as Town asserted their authority throughout.
Nowakowski was experimented in a forward position, and Weaver praised his “excellent” evening’s work for being a handful to the defence.
Avenue are languishing in 19th in Vanarama North but they beat Town 2-1 in the reverse at the Horsfall Stadium in August.
Town will play FC United of Manchester in the competition’s first round after the Evo-Stik side dumped Barwell out 3-2 in Wednesday night’s replay.
“We want to go as far as we can in the competition,” said Weaver.
“We know what cup runs do to the area as a whole. People turn up for that excitement.
“But we are going to have to do it the hard way.”
On Saturday’s win, Weaver added: “It was a really big result.
“A lot of people looked at it as a really tough tie. They have had a lot of good investment in the infrastructure there.
“There was a big support and it created a fantastic hostile environment to go into.
“The lads put in a brave performance and got through.
“It was that little bit more quality that forced the penalty and that was the difference.”
