Leeds United will return to Tadcaster Albion for a pre-season fixture, it has been confirmed.

New Leeds boss Garry Monk will bring a squad to face the part-time NCEL title winners at the i2i Stadium on Tuesday night (kick-off 7.30pm).

The Whites brought a squad of numerous first team players last season and won the corresponding fixture 3-0.

Tadcaser assistant manager Matt Heath, who played for Leeds between 2006 and 2008, is expecting a squad of fringe players with “three or four” established names.

Heath said: “Last year was a success and they brought a decent squad, which made it a great occasion at the i2i.

“I’m sure this year will be very similar. I imagine it’s going to be a good game and a great test four our lads. They all know it’s coming up and I’m sure they will want to be fresh for it.”

The match will be Tadcaster’s third of their busy pre-season schedule, which saw them reunited against former boss Paul Marshall and NCEL side Pickering Town away last night.

A late Adam Baker strike gave Albion victory on ‘champions day’ against Hemsworth Miners Welfare on Saturday, after Conor Sellars had levelled in the first half direct from a free-kick.
