FA Cup: FC Halifax 2 Tadcaster Albion 1

TADCASTER Albion suffered a last minute heart-ache after losing to FA Halifax who scored a 95th minute injury time goal.

The home side had the majority of the possession but were wasteful when well placed.

Albion started the game brightly with Steve Jeff forcing a smart save from Simon Eastwood in the opening few minutes.

Danny Gray then had a pot shot from 30 yards as Tad’ continued to impress in the early stages.

However ‘Fax still looked a threat in particular frontman Danny Holland.

Albion defender Jamie Williamson had to be on guard to head a testing cross over the bar’.

Neil Aspin’s side continued to press and nearly took the lead on 17 minutes but Kevin Holsgrove headed over the bar when well placed.

There was drama at the other end two minutes later when Danny Gray was released clean through.

He was tripped by Ryan Toulson on the edge of the ‘Fax box but the right back was only yellow carded.

Carl Stewart’s free-kick smashed against the ‘Fax wall.

Danny Holland then went close on two separate occasions before Albion took the lead.

Jamie Hopcutt whipped in a delicious corner on the left hand side and Stewart was on hand to prod home the opener on 29 minutes.

The home side hit back with a few nervy moments at the back to defend.
