BARDSEY captain Gary Hopton has called for more from his batsmen tomorrow as they prepare for the visit of struggling New Rover (1pm start).
Bardsey were skittled for just 131 on Saturday on a sticky dog at Knaresborough but recovered to roll the home team for a paltry 59 to take six welcome points.

Hopton is now looking for two in a row but has highlighted the batting prowess of Micha
el Richmond as key to the away side’s success.

“They’ve struggled a bit this season but they’ve always got Michael Richmond to come in and score some runs for them so we’ll have to watch out for that,” said Hopton.

“But we’ll just be looking to follow last week. It was a good allround performance but we’ll be looking for more from our batsmen this week.”

On Saturday a welcome return by Andy Young from injury and a great spell by Eddie Clayton pushed Bardsey over the winning line.

Captain Hopton was delighted with Young’s 5-26 and Clayton’s 3-8 star turn with the ball.

“It was good to have Andy back,” he added.

“He’s been struggling with a knee injury recently and we’re hoping he can be available for Saturday now.”

In Division One COLLINGHAM are still searching for their first six-point haul from the season.

They travel to North Leeds tomorrow.

On Saturday Tim Hollis’ side were bowled out for just 89 on a difficult wicket for batting.

In reply Rawdon comfortably moved over the winning line on 91-3.
