Community groups receive windfalls from mayor's fund

PATELEY Bridge Town Council has agreed to give ten local community organisations small grants from the mayor's charity fund.
The organisations applied for funding which totals £2,880. Applications are still open for other groups in the community to recieve funding.

John Leggett, clerk of Pateley Bridge Town Council, said: “The organistations which have been chosen so fa
r will receive a letter and a cheque from the mayor in the next few days.

“They have been given small grants so we can spread the money around.”

The groups are:

• Pateley Bridge Cricket Club - towards new shower facilities.

• Wilsill Methodist Church - towards railings.

• Pateley Bridge Dramatic Society - towards new stage lighting equipment.

• Nidderdale High School PTFA - towards organising horse show.

• Glasshouses School PTFA - towards upgrading infants playground.

• Dacre Braithwaite School - putting in new netball posts.

• First Pateley Bridge Girl Guides - 20 international neckerchiefs for event in Switzerland next year.

• Pateley Bridge Windmill Preservation Group - contribution towards preservation work.

• Christchurch Community Centre at Darley - towards chairs as part of the centre’s upgrade.

• Pateley Bridge and Upper Nidderdale Bowling Club - towards new boarding round the edge of the bowling green.
