HARROGATE Council is gearing up for a legal battle over the Bilton to Ripley bridleway order, looking to put aside £50,000 to help fight its corner in a forthcoming public inquiry.
On Wednesday night, the cabinet approved a £50,000 transfer from its reserve fund for green travel initiatives district-wide.

That includes tackling legal obstacles surrounding the planned bridleway, like a public inquiry to determine compensation payments to landowners.

The proposal has been added to the budget and will go before full council on Wednesday.
