Letter: More pedestrian lights in Harrogate?

Pedestrian lights: More crossing places needed

It is not only timings of pedestrian lights that need review (Letters, February 20).

Absence of lights is also an issue, eg on Station Parade outside Waitrose.

It’s a long walk up to the lights at York Place and equally long down to the lights at Victoria Avenue.

In order to cross Station Parade, one cannot rely on the lights turning red by the library.

There is always plenty of traffic turning into Station Parade from Victoria Avenue at speed, so there is rarely a gap to allow one to cross safely.
