A scaffolder was rescued by firefighters after falling through a skylight on the roof of an industrial premises at Sherburn.
Crews from Sherburn were called to the scene at St Hildas Street on Wednesday September 17 at 2.15.
A North Yorkshire Fire Service spokesman said: “Crews found a male scaffolder, who had been working on the roof, had accidentally stood on a skylight and fallen approximately 8-10 metres and landed between two large coils of sheet metal weighing about eight-ten tonnes.
“The on site crane removed the coils allowing fire crews and ambulance personnel access to the male.”
The man was stabilised at the scene and then taken by air ambulance to hospital, suffering internal injuries.
