Housebulder Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire has unveiled its plans for a controversial site in Boston Spa.
The development on Church Fields will comprise of 153 “exclusive” properties - a selection of two, three, four and five bedroom - which the company claims will appeal to a wide range of househunters including from first time buyers to families and those wanting to downsize.
Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, said: “We are thrilled to be launching an exclusive development within Boston Spa.
“We will offer a range of schemes to help first time buyers get onto the property ladder and for those looking to take a step up the ladder.
“We are expecting the part exchange scheme to prove popular with homebuyers as it is the easiest way to buy a new-build home and forget about the stress of various fees and being in a chain.”
She added that the company will open its doors to visitors at the site, just off Boston Spa’s High Street, in early summer, with showhomes expected later in the year.
The development on Church Fields was passed after a public inquiry in March last year.
At the time Coun John Procter slammed the inspector’s findings for the conservation area as bizarre.
Other councillors said they were worried that the decision would set a precedent.
Almost a quarter of the village’s population had objected to the plan.
