Witnesses wanted following car park brawl

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a brawl in a Harrogate pub car park.

Local police are investigating the violent disturbance which broke out in the car park at The Harrow pub on Knaresborough Road at 5.35pm on

Saturday, August 14.

Officers were called out following reports of shouting and arguing amongst a group of about 15 men and women in the rear car park which escalated into a fight involving at least four of the group, believed to be two men and two women.

It is alleged weapons were used or used as a threat in the incident, including what appeared to be a baseball bat wielded by a white male.

Pint glasses were also thrown and smashed in and around the car park following the fight.

A 28-year-old man from Harrogate has since been arrested in connection with the violent disturbance. Following questioning he was released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A 20-year-old man who was arrested received treatment for a head injury at Harrogate District Hospital before being taken into custody for questioning.

Efforts to trace a woman and other possible offenders are ongoing.
