Whaler lands new fryer
Harry Ramsden refurbishment - huge frying range arrives at Guiseley fish and chip restaurant with Phillip Murphy owner of the Wetherby Whaler.
The Wetherby Whaler took delivery of its new state-of-the-art frying range as part of the £500,000 refurbishment of the original Harry Ramsden’s restaurant in Guiseley.
The 7.3metres long fryer was lifted in through a window at the iconic restaurant last week as the Wetherby-based owner prepare to open in mid May.
Owner Phillip Murphy, who saved the building from demolition, said: “We are looking forward to re-opening the new Wetherby Whaler in Guiseley and the installation of the frying range was a milestone in its refurbishment.”
Mr Murphy opened the fish and chip restaurant in Wetherby in 1989 and has contined to expand since.
New chandeliers and a baby grand piano will not be in place until close to the opening date.
