Top award for Wetherby dentists

THE Nick and Laura Hopkinson Dental Practice, the father and daughter team based in Market Place, Wetherby, is celebrating after being accepted onto the Denplan Excel Accreditation Programme.

The programme, developed by Denplan, is the first programme to be approved by the Patients Association and helps dentists develop better relationships with their patients through good communication.

It was developed as a result of studies showing that patients who enjoy a good relationship with their dentists are less anxious about examinations and treatment.

Newly accredited dentist, Dr Laura Hopkinson said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the practice and we are really looking forward to sharing the benefits of being on the Denplan Excel programme with our patients.”

As part of their application to the programme, patients at the practice were asked to rate the practice’s performance on a number of different aspects.

The survey revealed that 100 percent of patients felt that they were a valued customer and rated the local surgery as “very professional” while 98.6 percent said the team clearly explained what treatment was needed any why.

Laura added: “The views of our patients are invaluable to us. As a practice we took the results of this survey very seriously and were delighted with the overwhelmingly positive response.”
