Team up for i12 Project

Youngsters could win up to £1000 by helping their community this summer.

West Yorkshire Police Community Trust and the High Sheriff of West Yorkshire are looking for creative teens to take part in the i12 Project.

The scheme encourages 11-18-year-olds to team up to create and run a project which will have a positive impact on their local communities.

For project ideas, teams are encouraged to research the issues that matter to local residents via their local Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) website or by speaking to their local NPT or Schools Police Officers.

Small start up grants of up to £250 may be available to help with projects which fit the objectives, and groups will be asked to keep a log book of their progress which must be completed and submitted by the end of September. Projects will be judged later in the year and prizes will be awarded to the best three projects.

Project Leader, Angie Rushby said: “The creativity and commitment of the young people who take part is fantastic and I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with this year.”

The deadline to register projects and submit applications for project funding is Friday, May 11.

Visit www.westyorkshire.police.uk/i12 for more information, project rules and application forms.
