Second hand clothes take to catwalk
Unwanted clothes were put on the catwalk last week as a local charity showed off what is in store.
Martin House Children’s Hospice held a successful fashion show, promoting the stock of good quality clothes, shoes and bags the Clifford-based children’s hospice holds in its six shops in Boston Spa, Yeadon, Headingley, Skipton, Acomb and Selby.
Over 50 people attended the event and watched as volunteer models took to the catwalk.
Retail Development Manager Stephanie Rimmington who organised the event said: “The Fashion Show was a great success and I would like to thank all of the people who came along and of course the volunteers who helped on the night.
“The catwalk models from The Beauty Lounge at Tadcaster and all of the other models were great. Some of our care team even took part.”
She added: “We wanted to raise awareness of the beautiful clothes that we have available in our six shops.
“We have a wonderful selection of evening wear, menswear, shoes, bags and jewellery.”
The Martin House Hospice shops provide a vital income stream for the centre which provides home from home care for children and young people with life limiting illnesses.
Stephanie added: “We urgently need more stock for our shops so please call into one and drop off your unwanted items.
“We also take toys, curtains, bedding and other household items.”
The Show raised over £500 for the hospice from the sale of tickets and goods.
