19 june 2011. The Jane Tomlinson Run for All Leeds 10K race yesterday (sunday).

Macmillan Cancer Support are calling for runners of all abilities in Wetherby to pull on their trainers and help to raise money for people affected by cancer in 2012.

Experienced and non runners are being urged to join their green team in the Run For All series and take part in the York 10k on August 5, or the Leeds 10k on July 8.

Clara White, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan in Wetherby explained: “These 10k runs are such good fun and a perfect way to keep fit for the summer months.

“It’s a good distance for all abilities.

“If it’s your first ever run, it’s a brilliant goal to work towards and a fantastic achievement.

“If you’re training for a longer run it’s a good way to try running with a large number of people and good to check your timings.

“If you’ve run before, it’s a chance to try and beat your personal best!”

Running for Macmillan will help to raise essential funds for people affected by cancer.

Clara added: “By taking part in one of our runs, and raising as much sponsorship as you can, you will help us to be able to reach more of the people who need us and make a big difference to their lives.

“Cancer is the toughest fight most of us will ever face. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed, you need a team of people in your corner supporting you every step of the way. That’s who Macmillan are.”

To sign up for the run visit www.macmillan.org.uk/running or phone 0207840 4937.
