Police in swoop on house
Two people from Boston Spa have been arrested for possession of cannabis in a drugs warrant arrest carried out by Wetherby police.
Last Friday, January 27, officers raided a house just off the High Street in Boston Spa at around 7.30pm and removed what they believe to be a substantial quantity of cannabis and drug paraphernalia from the house.
Officers then arrested an 18-year-old man and 20-year-old woman for alleged possession with intent to supply Class B controlled drugs.
Both suspects had been bailed to return to custody at a later date while forensic tests are carried out.
Wetherby Police officer Dave Manson, who covers the Boston Spa area, lead the operation.
He said: “We had been receiving a number of complaints from members of the community in relation to drug dealing and suspicious activity around this address.
“After careful investigation a warrant was obtained from Leeds Magistrates Court in order to assist us in combating this problem.
Police said a 25-year-old man from Moortown has also been arrested and bailed for possession and intent to supply Class B controlled drugs after officers became suspicious and searched the man’s vehicle on the High Street in Boston Spa last Saturday at about 7.30pm.
