Noisy neighbour loses all sound equipment after police raid

POLICE seized every piece of electrical equipment able to make a sound from the home of a 52-year-old Wetherby lady yesterday.

A warrant was executed on a flat on Ainsty Road yesterday morning by police and Leeds City Council's Environmental Enforcement team after officers failed to make the female occupant of the property keep her excessive noise down.

A haul of sound equipment, including MP3 players and televisions, was taken and the lady will now have to appeal at court for any of its return.

The operation came after months of complaints by neighbours about excessive noise from the flat often 24 hours day.

Inspector Marcus Griffiths of Wetherby police said: "This is one of many joint operations carried out by the police and council enforcement teams.

This type of work will continue and develop to ensure best use of public resources in the local community. "
