Long Marston to mark its battle

All Saints’ Church, Long Marston will be holding a special weekend to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Marston Moor on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3,

A Special exhibition will be held on The English Civil War – July 2 1644, morning Prayer will be said in the Church at 11am and in the churchyard The Sealed Knot will have a Living History Camp and Gun Emplacements which will be open to the public from 10.30-5pm on Saturday and 10.30-noon on Sunday.

Members of the Battlefields Trust will also be in the church to answer questions you have on any English battles.

The extensive Archive and Records of the Church and Parish of Long Marston and the surrounding area will be on display, with guidance available on how to trace your family tree.
