Students at Sherburn High School put their artistic talents on show recently.

The Year 11 pupils presented a “fantastic” range of artwork in the annual GCSE art exhibition.

Parents and friends attended an open evening where students celebrated their achievements.

A spokesman for the school said some of the comments made by visitors included ‘Wonderful, ex citing, challenging and highly imaginative.

The Curriculum Leader for Art, Mervyn Wilson and Helen Landon both praised the students for their dedication and creative output.

“Once again it proved just how talented and skilled our students are.

“New elements this year have included some photography and experimental sculptural work based on artists Giaccometti and Peter Randall Page whilst also exploring traditional painting, drawing, printmaking, graphics and IT.”
