Daffodils on sale at branches
Wetherby and Boston Spa branches of Leeds Building Society are selling daffodils throughout March to support the Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Daffodil Appeal 2012.
The branches are selling the daffodils for a suggested donation of £1.
Brian Curran, Marie Curie Cancer Care Corporate Development Manager said: “The Great Daffodil Appeal is our biggest fundraising campaign and takes place each March.
“The 2011 appeal was a massive success and we raised a staggering £5.7 million.
“This March, we want the Great Daffodil Appeal to be even bigger and better and it’s organisations like Leeds Building Society, and the support of people in Wetherby and Boston Spa, who will make it happen.
Lavinia Flynn, Leeds Building Society Wetherby Branch Manager, said: “The Great Daffodil Appeal is always very popular with our staff and customers.
“We want to help Marie Curie in their ambition to make this year’s appeal bigger and better than last year’s, and hope to see many people walking around Wetherby proudly wearing a daffodil.”
The appeal helps fund the charity’s work to support cancer victims and their families.
