Cara has designs on success
THE winning logo has been chosen for a £30,000 school playground project.
Pupils at St Mary’s CE School in Boston Spa have been coming up with logo ideas for the Aiming High playground project, which is raising funds to create a play area at the school.
The lucky winner, Cara Johnson, five, had her top-notch logo picked from designs including rocket ships, basket ball targets and play area equipment.
She has won a family ticket to Eureka! The Museum for Children and will have her work included on Aiming High printed material, including the project's new headed paper to launch the latest stage in the appeal for funds.
Fellow pupils Roxanne Frost, nine, and Rowan Bentley, six, came third and second respectively in the competition. Judging was carried out by members of the Aiming High committee.
Committee chairman Philippa Youlden said: "On behalf of the committee we congratulate Cara on her winning design which has already been used on letters to approach local businesses.
“We would also like to thank all those individuals and organisations who have already responded with promises of help towards this good cause – supporting development through play for selected local groups.
“We would welcome further donations or offers of help to complete this project."
