Wetherby Business Association celebrated this week when they handed over more than £6000 to two local charities.

The group raised the funds from its annual, prestigious Black and White Ball, which was held recently at The Bridge Inn, based in Walshford.

From the sale of tickets and sponsorship the amount was raised to boost the coffers of Martin House Children’s Hospice and St John’s Catholic School for the Deaf.

Philip Roberts, Chairman of the Association said: “I am thrilled that the Association has again been able to support two very local charities as this is in line with the ethos of the Business Association.”

Brenda Peel, of Martin House, and Jackie Butterwick of St John’s thanked Philip for the Association’s support.

Philip added that the Association is looking forward to the event in 2013.
