Ambulance station at Wetherby health centre - plans submitted

A PLANNING application has been submitted to Leeds City Council to build a new ambulance station in Wetherby.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service wants to convert part of the new NHS Wetherby health centre in Hallfield Lane into a waiting area for an emergency vehicle.

The area of the building applied for was originally intended to be turned into a pharmacy but those plans have been scrapped.

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service declined to provide further details of its plans for the station at this stage.

Its ambulances currently wait in the market place before they move onto other parts of the district.
