WETHERBY Mayor Cindy Bentley was delighted to be asked to “cut the ribbon” at the opening ceremony of the new Spa at the Bridge Hotel & Spa, Walshford on Monday.

A glass of champagne was very much welcomed by all who attended on what was the hottest day of the year so far.

The Mayor said that she remembered The Bridge had become very dilapidated before Philip Roberts bought the hotel exactly ten years ago and commended Philip on its fabulous transformation and described the Spa as “the icing on the cake”.

Philip and his wife Alicia gave his guests a guided tour of the new Spa which includes a sauna and a steam room, a Japanese foot spa and Cedar Wood hot tub.

As well as a Spa experience both residents and non residents can also be pampered by Beauty at the Spa, created by Diane Taylor who also owns The Beauty Lounge in Tadcaster. Diane will be offering a full range of treatments.

“The development of the Spa is a very welcome addition to this privately owned four star hotel and being situated just three miles north of Wetherby it is a facility that can be enjoyed by local residents as well as hotel residents seven days a week.” said chairman of Wetherby Business Association, Rosemary Nicholson.
