The 2017 Nominations Roadshaow for the Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards (YCCA) had its final stop in Wetherby.

The awards, which recognise children and young adults for their bravery, courage and overall achievements, were looking for nominations from the local community.

The event was hosted at St. Angelo’s Italian Restaurant and attended by celebrity friends, sponsors and children.

Jill Johnson, managing director of Twinkles Nurseries said: “Helping children have the best start in life is what our nurseries across the county are all about and so our support for The Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards feels very right for us.

“Some children have to cope with so much in life and the amazing ways they find to do so, and also the ways in which they also help others is truly an inspiration to us all.”

Originally launched in 2011, the annual awards dinner is a significant fundraiser and flagship event for the Foundation.

This year’s Awards Ceremony takes place at New Dock Hall in Leeds on Friday October 13 and is to be compered for the fourth year running by BBC Breakfast’s Steph McGovern and attended by event Ambassadors The Chuckle Brothers and Jack Carroll.

All of the money raised at the event will be distributed back to the Yorkshire community via grant application.

Anyone wishing to nominate someone they think deserves to be recognised for an award should visit www.yorkshirechildren.co.uk. Nominations can be made online and the closing date has been extended for a week until tomorrow (Friday).

Tickets for the evening are available from 07703 271238.
