Over 200 adults and children braved the strong winds for the Wetherby Bike Ride and helped to raise £3,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Stephen Congalton, who took over the organisation of the annual event after Ann and Jeff Newton retired after 17 years, thanked those who took part.

“We have raised £3000 and want to thank the good people of a Wetherby for their support and positive attitude,” he said.

“We need to thank Cyclesense for their amazing sponsorship and also Kerr Interiors for their very generous donation.”

Stephen said he is organising another ride for CRUK in Moortown, Leeds on September 13.
