What must it be like to be young and have no presents to open at Christmas? That is the question villagers of all ages in Collingham have been asking themselves.

They want to make sure that as many children as possible are prevented from having to answer that question and so an invitation has gone out to everyone in Collingham to support Operation Christmas Child run by the Samaritan’s Purse charity.

St Oswald’s church and Collingham Methodist church have already collected present filled shoe boxes as part of their harvest appeal and Lady Elizabeth Hastings school have also been collecting them for their harvest festival service.

There is until the beginning of November to collect as many boxes as possible so if you would like further details contact the school, a member of one of the churches or give Heather Shipman (Lay Pastor Collingham Methodist church) a ring on 01937 587539.
