Staff and pupils at St John’s Catholic School for the Deaf in Boston Spa were delighted to welcome their patron, TV and sports presenter Gabby Logan to school.

Gabby, a former international gymnast and ambassador for Lloyds TSB National School Sports Week, called into school to talk to headteacher Ann Bradbury about the introduction of a new sports award for pupils at St John’s. To be known as the Gabby Logan Gymnastics Trophy, the cup will be awarded each year to the pupil making the most progress in gymnastics.

“Gabby is very popular with our pupils” said Ann Bradbury “and they are very excited about the new trophy which we will be awarding for the first time later this month”
