Boston Spa Methodist Church has received a cash boost of £500 for its annual Community Christmas Tree Festival from property developer, Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire.

The event, to aid the building’s £500,000 renovation appeal, saw 34 sponsored Christmas trees placed in the grounds. The church also hosted carol singing, and a festival café which provided mince pies and mulled punch, over the course of five days last week.

Sheila Humphreys, event organiser from Boston Spa Methodist Church, said: “This year, our event at the church was bigger and better than ever before, and that’s all thanks, once again, to Taylor Wimpey’s generosity.

“Thanks to the donation we were able to purchase more trees, meaning that more were available for sponsorship, resulting in more monies raised towards much-needed improvements for the church.”
