A woman had to be cut free from her car after a crash near Stockeld Park yesterday (Thursday).

The 35-year-old, driver of a Fiesta, became trapped after a crash with a Vauxhall Zafira on Harrogate Road at around 10am.

Firefighters from Harrogate and Wetherby were called in to help, cutting the roof off the car within 20 minutes to free the woman inside.

All other passengers were unhurt, said a spokesman, although the 35-year-old was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with suspected spinal injuries, which are not thought to be serious.
