The Harrogate Advertiser Series team of journalists is preparing to bring you full and unrivalled local coverage of the biggest event our district will ever host - the opening stages of the 2014 Tour de France.
Journalists from the Harrogate Advertiser and all its sister titles in Ripon, Knaresborough, Wetherby and Nidderdale will be stationed across the district on Stage One and Stage Two as Yorkshire hosts the 101st Grand Départ.
Our reporters together with photographers including Adrian Murray, will bring you every twist and turn online, on Twitter and on Facebook as the action unfolds on July 5 and 6.
And, as Le Tour moves on to France, the Thursday, July 10 edition of your Harrogate Advertiser, Knaresborough Post, Nidderdale Herald, Ripon Gazette and Wetherby News will be a special unparalleled souvenir issue featuring coverage and your reactions from the weekend our district made history.
Harrogate Advertiser Series Editor Jean MacQuarrie said: “Like a lot of other organisations, we have been planning the logistics of the Tour De France for some time.
“We are teaming up with colleagues on the Yorkshire Post and the Yorkshire Evening Post, all part of our Johnston Press Yorkshire Publishing Unit, to make sure we can give the very best coverage.
“The weekend itself will feature massively on our websites, as you would expect. The difference though that sets us apart from others is that our coverage is about local reaction and response around Yorkshire.”
We can’t cover this event without the help of readers!
