Wetherby Tool Hire has been shortlisted for a top trade award.

After coming under scruitiny from secret shoppers and a visit from a judging panel, the Sandbeck Estate-based company has reached the final seven out of more than 700 entries for the Executive Hire Show accolade on February 11.

Hire Manager for the four-employee team, Andrew Richardson said: “Everyone is really chuffed to bits.

“We all take pride in what we do and that must come across to our customers. We do try to give top level of service and try to help people.”

The firm, which is owned by David Scorfield and Scott Fletcher who also run Fletchfield Services landscape gardening, was started four years ago and loans out tools and small plant machinery and provides servicing.

Judges for the prestigious awards made mystery shopper visits and calls to the Wetherby depot where they were scrutinised for aspects such as presentation of premises, staff enthusiasm and quality of products.

This year’s Executive Hire Show, when the awards will be made, takes place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on February 11 and 12.

Last year’s winner of the smal to medium hire centre category was Phils Tool Hire of Welshpool.
