Tockwith Church services: Sunday, June 2 Informal service at 6pm.

Tockwith Players: the next presentation is another Farndale WI offering. In this episode the ladies are invaded by aliens from Mars. Come along and find out the result of this clash of humans and space men. Performances are on May 30 and 31 and June 1. Contact Sue on 01423 359254 or Audrey on 01423 359378.

Tockwith Primary School: the school reopens on Tuesday, June 4 for a very busy term. We begin by holding our new parents evening on Thursday, June 6 for parents whose children will be starting in reception class in September. Class 3P will be having their class assembly for parents and grandparents on Friday, June 14. Year 5 will be going on a trip to Tadcaster Grammar School on Monday, June 17 and on the same day, Year 6 are going to King James’s School for a science lesson. The same week, Year 1 and Year 2 are going to Riverside School in Tadcaster to take part in an inter-schools multiskills competition. On Friday, June 21 we will be holding our own sports day, so we are hoping the sun shines all day! There will be a senior citizen’s lunch on Wednesday, July 3 which is the day of the Year 5 and 6 production. You would be very welcome to stay and watch the production after having lunch. Anyone wishing to come along please ring the school office on 01423 358375. The cost of the meal is £2.76 and includes coffee.

Tockwith Show: the 2013 show schedules are now available and you can download them by visiting the show website www.tockwithshow.org.uk

Tockwith Bowls Club: is a flat green bowling club, situated next to the football field at the sports pavilion. We have trained coaches who will help anyone who would like to have a try and anyone is welcome. We also have spare bowls for anyone wanting to try before they buy anything. Come along and enjoy an afternoon or evening in the fresh air. We have a club night on Tuesday nights which is a fun, come and try night. Art group: do you enjoy painting or drawing? Perhaps you like the idea, but have never got round to trying it. Whatever your experience or skill you will be most welcome at Tockwith Art Group. We are a small diverse group with a common interest in making pictures. Some paint in oils, watercolours or acrylics, others prefer pastels or collage. Whatever your preferred medium, you are sure to fit in. We also host occasional demonstrations and workshops by well known and professional artists. Craft club: Tockwith Village Hall on Mondays from 1-3.30pm. We welcome everyone to our group - from beginners to the more experienced, so come and join us for a relaxing and enjoyable session of crafting. For more information call Audrey 01423 358378.

The Spotted Ox: open mic sessions every first Wednesday of the month at 8pm with Arnold of The Raisers. Quiz nights every Monday starting at about 8.30pm. There are cash prizes and everyone is welcome. Contact The Spotted Ox – 01423 358387.

Tockwith Pop Choir: we meet every Tuesday at 7.30-9.30pm in Tockwith Church. Everyone is welcome and you don’t have to be able to read music or even be good at singing (you’ll be amazed how you can improve with practice). If you can only make it once in a while that is also fine. It’s just £2 per two hour session, £1 for pensioners. The choir does perform locally from time to time for charity but that is also not compulsory. It is all very light hearted and most of all fun! Ainsty Conservation Society: ACS is a local organisation dedicated to nature conservation and is a registered charity. Workdays are on the morning of the second and forth Tuesday of each month. Membership of the society costs £5 per household per year. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact Ian Williams on 01423 359196.

Tockwith with Wilstrop Parish Council: the parish council meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month. Meetings are not normally held in August or December.
