Tadcaster Twinning Association held a wine and cheese evening, not only as a social event, but to promote the liaison between the town and St Chely D’apcher and to attract new members.
Hosted by president Jon Palmer and his wife Deborah, more than 40 people attended the event and it was a time to showcase the Twinning Association and the work it does on behalf of Tadcaster and the community.
“We are constantly looking to recruit new members to the Twinning Association and this was an ideal opportunity to mix business with pleasure,” said Jon Palmer. “The evening was extremely successful and thoroughly enjoyable and attracted a lot of new interest,” he added.
Tadcaster Twinning Association was founded in 1999 and has gone from strength to strength and currently organises regular exchange visits, with one planned for August this year to visit the festival in St Chely D’apcher.
The Twinning Association’s next event will be a Bastille Day Celebration, but as yet the date has to be confirmed. “Obviously the date of this will be around July 14 to coincide with Bastille Day, but those people interested in that event or becoming involved in the Twinning Association, can contact me via email on firstname.lastname@example.org,” he added.
