FORMER Tadcaster Grammar School youngster Charlie Taylor has taken a big step on the road to football stardom by signing a three-year professional contract with Leeds United.
The 17-year-old has completed his first year as a scholar with the Championship club and was a near ever-present with the under-18s this season.
The left-back also made nine appearances in the reserves, becoming a regular during the second half of the campaign.
“Charlie was a very promising young footballer with an exceptional left foot and scored many vital goals for Tadcaster,” said Mike Elsworth, Charlie’s former football coach at Tadcaster Grammar School. “I am very pleased that Charlie has signed professional terms with Leeds United and look forward to seeing him at Elland Road next year,”
Leeds United boss Simon Grayson added: “Charlie is another player we think has a bright future if he keeps his head down and works hard.
“He has a good left foot, good energy and good potential. Hopefully this will give him a boost as well because it shows what we think of him.”
