Sherburn High School students Dominic Pegg and Codie Henaechon have been chosen by the Youth Sports Trust to be young ambassadors.
They were chosen for their commitment to PE and sport and for their leadership skills and attended a conference this week at York Racecourse with over 200 other students from across the county.
As the countdown to the Olympic Games begins, they were worked with Olympic Athletes to help them aspire to their role which is to promote the Olympic and Paralympic values at Sherburn High.
They will be training students from Tadcaster Grammar and Selby High next week.
Rachel Cale, school sports co-ordinator at Sherburn said: “Codie and Dominic are fully deserving of their young ambassador titles and I am sure they will do a brilliant job of promoting sport to young people both in and out of school.”
