Kerbside recycling: at Spofforth will be on Tuesday, September 24.

Spofforth in Bloom: will be presenting an evening with Martin Fish, writer, broadcaster and director of the Harrogate Flower Show on Wednesday, September 25 at 7.30pm in The Long Memorial Hall. Martin regularly gives gardening advice in the Ackrill newspapers and will be well worth listening to for his horticultural expertise. A reminder: that Spofforth Village Society will be holding a ceilidh dance on Saturday, September 21 from 7-11pm in The Long Memorial Hall. Featured will be The Dark Horse Ceilidh Band who will provide the music for jigs, reels and square dances. All ages are welcome to enjoy the foot tapping rhythms and dance the night away. Tickets, available from G &M News at £10 for adults and £5 for under sixteens will include a delicious buffet meal. There will be a bar, serving alcohol or softs drinks. The proceeds will go towards supporting various good causes in the village.
