All Saints Church Spofforth: the service on Sunday, March 17 will be holy communion at 10.30am.

Kerbside Recycling: at Spofforth will be on Friday, March 15. Brown bins for garden waste can be put out now.

Spofforth Seniors: coffee morning will be from 10-11.30am at the Long Memorial Hall. This is a great opportunity for any residents who are 50 or over to meet their neighbours, have a chat or share ideas and concerns.

Spofforth with Stockeld Parish Council: will meet on Tuesday, March 19 at 7.30pm in The Long Memorial Hall.

The Spofforth Village Society: quiz and curry night raised £847 towards hosting the beer festival on March 9. The four winning teams were Drunken Dansaks; Spice Bandits; Poppadominance and Biryani Brainboxes. Money raised by the society goes towards several good causes, especially for the children in the village.

Spofforth School: Class One used their baking skills on Shrove Tuesday to make pancakes. They all helped to make pancake batter and assisted in cooking and flipping their pancakes. They then discussed the various toppings and chose their own before sampling the results.
