Kerbside Recycling: at Spofforth will be on Friday, November 9.

Spofforth Women’s Institute: will meet on Tuesday , November 13 at 7.30 pm in The Long Memorial Hall. The talk by Jean Hardy will be Tadcaster’s Royal Connections. The competition will be an item of royal memorabilia. This will also be the annual meeting.

Spofforth School: have been joined by 22 new starters in the reception class and we understand that they are settling into school life very well. During the school holidays a new all- weather surface has been added to the trim trail so that pupils can use it all the year round. Also they have added a huge digging pit for the youngest pupils to enjoy. Thanks are expressed to the PTA who have made a significant contribution to the funding of these improvements. All of the children were involved in planning writing and presenting the harvest festival celebration in All Saints Church. They read and sang beautifully. Many thanks go to the children and their families for the generous donations of produce which have been put to good use by the café, Dr B’s.

Fish and Chips: for older members of the community who do not fancy cooking at night. On Fridays there is a fish and chip run. Prices are around £2.35 for a small portion to £4 for a full portion and the meal is delivered to your door. Contact Amanda Addyman on 01937 590250 or 07990 543208.
