Organisers of this year’s Spofforth Gala and 10k Trail Run say the event promises to be even more exciting this year.
The family event will be based around the Castle Field in the village from 12-5pm on August 26 and is aimed at raising funds for Spofforth CE Primary School.
Parents and Teachers Association spokesman Rhona Langan said: “The traditional village gala offers fairground rides, a bouncy castle, paint-balling, pony rides, tennis and drama demonstrations, Morris dancing, a nail parlour, gourmet and craft stalls, dog training and displays and refreshments in the Village Hall.
“There will also be a children’s Fancy Dress Parade with prizes for the best costumes.”
Tickets for adults are £1 on the gate with no charge for children.
“The Trail Race is always extremely popular, run almost entirely on footpaths, bridleways and fields in the heart of the beautiful Lower Dales,” added Rhona.
