All Saints Church Spofforth: the service on Sunday, November 17 will be holy communion at 10.30am.
Kerbside recycling: at Spofforth will be on Tuesday, November 19.
Spofforth Cine: will present the tear jerking War Horse on Sunday, November 17. Tickets in advance from June Geddes 01937 590695, Christine Atkinson 01937 591424 and Jane Hare 01937 590393, G&M News and the Hairbelle or pay on the door on the night. There will be bar facilities, coffee & tea, refreshments, popcorn and ice creams. The perfect way to spend a Sunday evening. (my advice is to get your tickets early as the hall capacity is limited and this venture is already being talked about around the village.
Spofforth Seniors: coffee morning will be on Tuesday, November 19 from 10-11.30am in The Long memorial Hall.
The Spofforth bonfire: was the usual successful event. The weather was OK for the time of year and everybody who attended enjoyed the spectacular fireworks supervised by John Horne.
Spofforth Parish Council: have a vacancy for a parish councillor following the retirement of two of its members. Any resident who is on the electrol roll is eligible and it is an opportunity to take part in the ongoing development and administration of the village. The parish council meets monthly to discuss all matters relating to the village, including the upkeep of the castle; maintaining the playground; the upkeep and maintenance of the hall ; planning social fund raising events; commenting on planning applications and handling various comments and concerns of residents.
