Knit and Natter group: the ladies of the knit and natter group have sent 80 little jumpers for the ‘fish and chip’ babies to Africa. The manageress of the wool shop in Leeds market managed to find someone willing to take all these little jumpers to Africa so hopefully they are on their way. The ladies are now knitting Beanie hats and these will be distributed to worthwhile charities in the UK and Africa. They are also knitting baby coats for the premature babies and teddy bears. So we are still very busy. But no more Fish and chip baby jumpers! On Monday, July 22 the group are having a break from knitting, but probably not from nattering and holding a Blooming Great Tea Party in the village hall starting at 2pm until 4pm. The tea party is in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care charity and it is hoped to raise a goodly amount for this very good charity. Tickets are now available at £2 from Gloria on 0113 2663883 or email or Margaret on 0113 2737317. Ticket price includes tea (of course) and scones and cakes. Catherine will also be in attendance with her handmade greeting cards, all at reasonable prices. There will be a book stall, cakes and a raffle. So please come along and bring all your friends. Anyone who would like to join the knitting group are very welcome, we meet on Monday afternoons at 2pm in the village hall, everyone pays £2 towards the cost of hiring the hall and once again there is tea and cake.
