Gambians in Need: Liz and David Hutton held their charity coffee morning for Gambians in Need on Saturday, October 6. A lovely sunny morning, perhaps that accounted for the lack of visitors to the coffee morning, or maybe it was because there was also one in the Methodist Church. The lack of customers did not deter the stall holders and they managed to sell a few cakes, books and bric-a-brac. David had organised an excellent grand draw with prizes such as theatre tickets, cases of wine, visits to Diggerland and Creepy Crawlies to name but a few, the draw will take place at the end of November. The blankets made from the knitted squares donated by the exhibitors in the flower show and the ladies from the craft afternoon were on display. There are now three large and one small blanket to be taken to the Gambia to give to families there. Thanks to the help of family and friends, Liz and David managed to raise £460 for their charity. The money goes to help the James Ogoo Nursery School in Gambia.
