St. Paul’s Church; the team ministry of Moor Allerton and Shadwell will be losing another of their vicars at Easter when team vicar Rev Nigel Beer leaves to be vicar in the benefice of Stanwix, in Carlisle. He will be sadly missed from the team and especially from St Paul’s and St Barnabas; however everyone wishes Nigel and his wife and family good luck in Carlisle. The next few weeks are a busy time in the church calendar in the lead up to Easter. The Lent group evening meetings start on February 13 (Ash Wednesday) at Alwoodley Methodist with Andrew Atkins, February 20, St John’s Alwoodley with Charles Dobbin, February 27 Shadwell Methodist, March 6 Wigton Moor UR with Peter Clarkson, March 13 St Barnabas with Nigel Beer and March 20 Moortown Methodist with Graham Brown. Regular services at St Paul’s church Shadwell are 8am Holy Communion, 10am Parish Communion and the Young Family service is at 11.30am on the first Sunday in every month.
