This weekend Santa will arrive in style at Stockeld Park’s Christmas Adventure with the annual Sleigh parade taking place on both Saturday and Sunday from 3pm.
Children get to watch and wonder as Santa arrives on his sleigh and is paraded through the illuminated Enchanted Forest by his four-legged friends from The Cairngorm Reindeer herd.
Amy Thornton, General Manager at Stockeld Park said: “The children’s anticipation for Santa’s arrival is always a sight to behold.
“The excitement and pure magic of the event makes it a great family day out for all.
“We sell raffle tickets on the day of the sleigh parade for one lucky child to win a seat aboard the sleigh next to Santa as he parades through the Enchanted Forest before taking residence in his grotto with the Elves.”
Santa welcomes children from noon from Friday to Sunday during November and then daily from Dec 1 until Christmas Eve.
Stockeld Park sponsor The Cairngorm Reindeer Herd. It is Britain’s only herd of reindeer, found free ranging in the Cairngorm Mountains in Scotland.
The income earned from the reindeer taking part in Christmas events is ploughed back to cover the day to day costs of the herd, making it possible to maintain the reindeer in their natural environment.
At the Christmas Adventure visitors can enjoy a range of family fun activities including the magical, illuminated Enchanted Forest, real Ice Skating, a 1.5km Nordic ski trail, an illuminated Yew Maze, plus the Woodland Cafe and a fabulous Christmas shop.
This year the team has also introduced a new 4D Cinematic Sleigh Sensation experience - a sensory sensation that whisks visitors off on an imaginative journey.
