Staff and customers at a Harrogate hairdressing salon helped raise hundreds of pounds for charity during a 70s-themed opening party night.
When Halo Hair and Beauty moved to its new premises in Leeds Road, Harrogate, staff decided to celebrate the move by raising money for the town’s Saint Michael’s Hospice.
During a 70s-themed opening night, guests were encouraged to buy raffle tickets for the chance to win a free haircut with Halo’s talented team of stylists.
Nine haircuts were raffled – and £300 was raised.
Salon owners Joseph Ferraro and Chris Burton, were delighted to have raised so much cash.
“We wanted to raise money for a local cause that is close to many people’s hearts and Saint Michael’s Hospice is just that.
“It is very much part of the community and is very local to us, now our salon is in Leeds Road,” said Joseph.
“We are delighted we can hand over £300 to Saint Michael’s Hospice to help it continue its vital work in the community – and we hope to organize other fundraising events in the future,” he said.
Saint Michael’s chief executive, Tony Collins, said: “We are extremely grateful to receive the money raised by Halo Hair and Beauty at their opening party.”
