Rotary collection for spinal charity

In the run up to Christmas Wetherby-based Rotary Club of Lower Wharfedale raised £670 in support of Spinal Muscular Atrophy Support UK, the chosen charity of President Christine Clarke.

The amount was raised through collections in Collingham and Boston Spa where £129 and £131 were raised respectively. A further collection in Morrisons in Wetherby raised a futher £409.

President Christine and her club members issued thanks to the public for their suppport of this worthy cause and also thanks to Morrisons for hosting the collection.

Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is an inherited neuromuscular condition, a rare disease which affects very young children
