Children at High Trees Nursery in Clifford received a special visitor on Christmas Eve.
Ezra, a new guide dog puppy, met children for the first time and will be a regular visitor at the nursery over the coming year.
The black Labrador has started her 14 month socialising and puppy walking, the initial stage before she goes on to train as a Guide Dog.
Part of her weekly routine will involve visits to the nursery and spending time with the children and staff.
Anne Dickinson, the manager of High Trees, said: “We are delighted to have Ezra join the family at High Trees.
“She is the fourth guide dog puppy we have had here and the children really enjoy having a puppy around.
“It provides them with the opportunity to get to know a dog, overcome any apprehension they may have around animals and to learn a bit about how to look after a pet.”
The children will carry out various pet and animal projects over the next few months and Ezra will play a starring role.
