Scarcroft and District Ploughing Society are no strangers to fundraising, having raised many hundreds of pound for various local charities over the years.

This year, Martin House Children’s Hospice is the recipient of the proceeds from their raffle and event, benefiting from a very generous donation of £300.

The Boston Spa-based facility has become very dear to them as a close friend of Geoff’s & David’s, Cindy Allenby, recently lost her precious grandson, Ethan, and the family were cared for at Martin House.

This amount will cover the cost of basic medical supplies for a whole week at the Hospice, and so this is a very special gift.

Sarah Tarpey of Martin House said: “We are extremely grateful for the support of the Wetherby & District Ploughing Society.

“Without donations such as these, we simply could not be there for the hundreds of Yorkshire families who need us.

“The generosity of people like these ensures that we can continue to help some of the most vulnerable children in our community.

“Jess and Aaron, Ethan’s Mummy and Daddy, would particularly like to thank everyone at The Wetherby & District Ploughing Society for making this donation possible”.
