Hundreds of visitors enjoyed the entertainment on offer at Spofforth Gala.
The gala went well despite the weather.
We had about 200 runners and over 500 visitors to the field.
The air ambulance was able to make its scheduled visit and raised a considerable amount of money for the charity.
We also had Harrogate fire crews and engine present for families to look round.
The race was a great success with many runners saying how well organised and pleasant a run it was.
Runners were given goody bags with contributions from Harrogate Spa Water and tea bags from Taylors of Harrogate.
The climbing wall, provided by Carnegie College was a particular success and there were always a stream of children eager to have a go, although the inflatable rides closed early due to the bad weather.
Later on in the evening three bands, including headline act, Pepperheads, played in the marquee next to the Cricket Club allowing the fun and festivities to continue into the night.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the kind help and support of the volunteers who ran the gala and race and the sponsorship received from Spofforth Village Society, Spofforth Londis Village Shop and Post Office and Pepperheads band.
Proceeds raised will go towards improving playground facilities at the school and building an extension at the Cricket Club.
The final amount raised is being calculated.
